Type 'local AI companion' into a search bar and you'll get two very different promises. One is a model that lives on your own hardware and never phones home. The other is an app that greets you in German at 2 a.m. and remembers what you told her last week. Only the second can send her own photo back when you ask.
That one word is doing the work of three separate needs:

Say you're in Hamburg and you open a character from Explore. The chat starts in German. GoLove.ai is localized into 18 languages across the site, the chat and the generator, including German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Arabic. Links open in your page's language, or in your browser's if the page doesn't set one. This isn't a translation layer stuck on top of an English app, and that's the whole difference.

Next, Chat Settings. Two sliders matter here:

You set them once. No fluff, no prompt engineering.
Then the part I'd actually sell this on. Tap the media button, choose Send Photo and describe the scene in your own words. A photo of that same character arrives in about 20–45 seconds for 1 Star, and her face and body stay consistent with her avatar and her earlier photos. That consistency matters more than any other spec here. Without it she's a random render. With it, she's her.

Under any photo there's a one-tap Generate Video that turns the scene into a short clip of the same character. For more control, the Generate tab has 76 realistic video modes, each built from preset cards: an action, a clothes card and a background, then one Generate tap. A 720p video costs 10 Stars. It's low-effort by design.

Series is the part I didn't expect from a companion app. GoLove makes its own vertical short dramas, with 5 series and 32 episodes so far. Each episode runs 60–100 seconds with subtitles in nine languages, and episodes 1 and 2 of every series are free, even without an account. I'd start with I Can Hear Their Thoughts: five episodes, a love triangle and a guy who suddenly hears what everyone really thinks.
Under the player, the cast is one tap from a chat, where you can ask the woman you just watched to send you new photos of herself.

OurDream: One Subscription, Browser Only
OurDream deserves real credit here. Chat, image generation and video generation come bundled in one subscription, and that's the cleanest package in this group. It runs from about $19.99/month, or about $9.99/month on an annual plan, with media drawing on a separate DreamCoins balance. The catch for this search is that it's web-only with no native mobile app. Its custom character builder also asks for more setup than most. We could not confirm how far its language support goes.
Running a Model on Your Own Hardware
If you want a genuinely offline, on-device companion, this is the only route. Your conversations never leave your machine. Everything else is the price you pay:
